Sage leaves wrapped in a light, crisp wheat flour crust, slowly leavened and hand-worked, pre-fried and then IQF frozen. Sage makes up 18% of the product, which has an irregular shape and is designed as a fried item for hospitality service.
- Format: polythene bags of 2 kg in cartons of 4 kg (about 190/195 pieces per kg)
- Sold as: sold by the piece
- Main ingredients: wheat flour, sage 18%, dehydrated potato flakes, cow's milk, salt, sunflower seed oil, yeast
- Cooking: immerse the frozen product in oil at 170°C and cook for about 2 minutes; cook from frozen before consuming
- Storage: keep at -18°C, 24 months; do not refreeze once thawed
- Allergens: cereals containing gluten (wheat), milk. Produced in a facility that also uses crustaceans
- Origin: Soc. Agricola Spirito Contadino De Palma, Borgo Tressanti (FG), Italy
Ideal as finger food or a fried starter to serve hot and crisp. Suggested for a mixed platter of battered vegetables, as a nibble with aperitifs or alongside light dipping sauces. Works well on buffets, fritto platters and traditional Italian menus.
